The tour takes you on an adventurous and cultural journey to the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. The tour has been designed to give a glimpse into the local customs and culture of the people of Bhutan. You will also have a chance to see the religious festival of Bhutanese people called “Paro Tsechu”. The tour also covers some of the most prominent places of tourist interest along with the beautiful country side and mighty mountains. During the festivals, people from the surrounding villages gather and dance to the celebrations and joy.
Itinerary
Meeting and assistance on arrival at The Paro Airport, the only entry point to the Kingdom of Bhutan by air. Then you will be driven 2 hrs to Thimpu, the Capital city of Bhutan.
On arrival check into your hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast visit Trashichodzong, or the glorious fortress of religion and the most impressive place. It is the seat of the government and the clergy of Bhutan.
Other places worth visiting are King’s Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum and the national Textile museum, National Library and the Handicrafts Emporium. Overnight at Hotel
Morning visit Institute of Traditional medicine before heading to Punakha via Wangdue, driving about 5 to 6 hrs. En route visiting Dochula Pass from where one can have a superb view of the Eastern Himalayas on a clear day with a powerful binocular telescope. The small town with most colourful bazaars and valley views.
On arrival check into your hotel for overnight.
Spend the morning exploring the town and visiting the monuments.
Later drive to Gangtey, park of the “Black Mountain National Park, one of the wildlife reserves of Bhutan. Sheeps and Yaks can be seen around the places.
Overnight at Hotel
Bumthang is a place of real artistic treasure as it houses around more than 25 temples, monasteries and museums. Wangdi chholing Palace built in 1857 as the royal palace today is the house to many monks.
After the breakfast Visit Jakar Dzong, the largest Dzong in Bhutan. It has a circumference of 1500 metres. Visit the Kurje Lhakhang, Jambay Lhakhang, Tamshing Monastry.
Overnight at Hotel
After breakfast drive to Punakha en route visiting Dochula Pass. It a beautiful journey passing through the apple orchards, pine and oak forests. You can also visit Punakha Dzong, the second largest in Bhutan and houses some sacred relics related to Buddhism. On arrival check into your hotel for overnight.
After breakfast drive 4 to 5 hrs to Paro. On arrival check into your hotel Evening spare some moments to explore the town for some last minute shopping and souvenirs buying. Overnight at Hotel
Morning visit some of the historical monuments of Paro like monasteries and Paro Dzongs. Later visit Paro Tsechu.
Today is the day to look out for the souvenirs and gifts for your loved ones. Explore the markets on your own. Overnight at Hotel
Today you will have full day to explore the Paro Tsechu, one of the most religious festivals of Bhutan. Overnight at Hotel.
Today you will be transferred to Paro airport for your flight to onward destination. I am sure you will be taking along memories which will linger in your minds for long time.
